In these versions, IOS applications and android applications are in a cruel battle with each other for the attainment of more users since the last decade.

According to the survey in the united kingdom, as of June IOS had a market share of 49.98% in the mobile operating system. According to the statistics of Vietnam 2020, 40 percent of the downloads of apps lying in the category of games occurred in the IOS.

Coming to the android applications according to the Statista research department Tiktok is the most downloaded app by Android users of Spain in June 2021, with 300 thousand downloads that month. Secondly, the most accessed application in South Korea as of March 2021 for online shopping is the Coupang application whereas, 46.2 percent of the downloads are from android users.

There may be numerous questions in one’s mind.

Some questions are that which version applications are the leading ones with more users?

Which applications might be overtaking the other in the future providing more services to the users?

Coming towards the benefits of android applications first by mentioning that it provides a less restricted environment as compared to the IOS. These android apps would run on any other android device without putting any hindrances when it comes to the compatibility of hardware.

The process for android apps is not very much hectic when it comes to their development. The major difference between iOS and Android is that it has an open-source operating system making it convenient for the developers to access hardware, file systems, and features that are off-limit in iOS.

The android apps are easier to publish on the play store it is only a matter of few hours that would be published in the play store.

Future chance of success:

Android devices containing android applications are now holding 72.18 percent of the global market shares, making it possible and promising in the future for composing more android apps that would be very beneficial and lucrative in getting a good job for technical individuals as a developer.

Demographics:

Performance of the IOS development is very much high in demand and applications of IOS perform extremely well. This platform is vigorously fast, reliable, and easy to use with very few bugs remaining in the app while its finalization is to be published on the play store.

Detailed guidelines are fed to the developers by Apple to create a user interface for their apps leading to an exceptional user experience.

IOS has a closed source code means that it only works on Apple devices. The developers might use swift or objective-C which are the developing tools.

So it’s clear from the statistics the way Apple’s operating system is evolving the more it is besieging the prominence among its potential users.

Demographics:

According to the demographics android holds more market share around the globe as compared to IOS, but as it is clear from the picture that IOS holds more market shares in those countries like the United States, Australia including European countries that’s because these are rich economic countries with best educational people.

That’s where IOS has grabbed its entire share nearly touching the revenue of the android attained from the entire globe. According to Statista Android smartphone operating system has lost grounds to the IOS in the second half of 2019, falling from 65 percent to 12 percent in December 2019

Target audience:

The target audience of the IOS is the business professionals, sales experts, economics experts or we can say those individuals which are elites.

On average, IOS users have more educational degrees as compared to android users.

They strive to cope up with the latest technological trends and have a higher household income.

IOS users:

  • 37% of the IOS users have a graduate degree.
  • 29% of the IOS users are women likely to have the age of 35 or 35+.
  • 14% of the users are extroverts.
  • 67% of the users earn $200k and enjoy spending it.
  • 39% are more likely to be high maintenance.

The development cost for IOS applications:

IOS remains the winner when it comes to the development cost comparison of android and IOS.

Whereas, IOS does not power many devices which eventually leads to the cost decrease while making the IOS app.

Secondly, IOS is not an open-source platform. It increases the standardization of featured software leading to the proper and smooth functioning of the app the devices on which that app is made compatible.

It’s clear from discussing both versions who will win the 2021 competition. If we analyze in terms of market share android wins unprecedentedly, but if we see from the perspective of development costs IOS takes the lead easily. Hence this cruel battle is still there for the last 2 decades. Sometimes IOS takes the lead some time android does. At the end we can say that the version which will create a good user experience and convenience for the users will eventually win the race not of 2021 but in the future times also.
